Day 4, of - The Bible: Walking With Jesus - Renew, Transform, and Reinvent Your Life in 40 Days

Excited about today, because reading is really helping me, keeping me very grounded in a positive sense of having Faith to focus on every day. I am reading those 2 magazines(The Bible: Walking With Jesus - Renew, Transform, and Reinvent Your Life in 40 Days -and- LIFE: MARY - BLESSED ARE THOU AMONG WOMEN), reading The Bible in full in this 40 days and 40 nights period, and I found this wonderful book at the library front desk that the library started this program where they put new books up at the front desk, that says, < take me home >, and the book I found was a philosophy of 'none other than' the great, Walt Whitman, and the book is called, "The Wander Society - by Keri Smith", and it's based on being a dreamer, and getting out there and living, and wandering in life and in the world, seeing where it takes you?
Ok, let's delve into the magazine, first up, *Jesus Christ*. I am on day 4, page 15, and it starts off by saying; "In his thirty-three years on earth, Jesus did not sin. He did no wrong against GOD or others.", and I can not imagine that, because my whole being is so tainted, and it took me a long time to face my self and be happy with what I am, to pressure oneself to be up to Jesus standards is torturous, but I found, (1)do your best, (2)have the best intentions, and(3)let positive change come naturally. I know I'm a good person, just fragile, delicate, sensitive in this world and to people, there is SOOOOO much temptation, from; money, to sex/porn/masturbation, to power, to anger, to substance/chemical abuse, addictive natures, food, horror movies I really like, caffeine, psych meds, pain relief, anxiety relief, facing fears of death, losing loved ones, revenge. So much to deal with, our mental states are fragile, and our souls are sacred, must be the most kept piece of your puzzle.
Matthew 4: 1-11, the devil tempted Jesus during an intense one-on-one encounter, but even he could not persuade Jesus to deviate from GOD's plan.
; The devil tries to tempt us in our every day life. Must become as strong and tough enough to not be able to succumb to them. And I am learning to keep focus and plugged in to GOD's energy, it is not easy, but doable.
Jesus was blameless in his thoughts, words, and deeds.
; I can not imagine, my thoughts are NUTS!!!!!!
And we are not meant to be perfect like this, some people, yes, some people are very innocent, and some of us have to fight for *LIGHT*. But we do, FIGHT!
Some Temptations Jesus Resisted:
-taking moral shortcuts;
-ignoring spiritual responsibilities;
-and pursuing selfish wants at the expense of the needs of others.
(the last one hits home, and although I am mentally ill, and have a harsh time making it thru the day, I am fighting to be stable and get a job to take care of my mom)
Jesus knows how to recognize those temptations for what they are, lessen their power, and make the best decisions in response.
-A careful look at the life of Jesus reveals choices he made that should be of interest to those trying to imitate his example. How do you think each of the following strategies helped him maintain his moral and spiritual focus?
1. His intimate relationship with GOD
2. His relationship with spiritually like-minded people
3. His knowledge of scripture
4. His active routine
5. His refusal to sugarcoat wrongdoing and hypocrisy

-Which of these strategies do you need to incorporate into your life right now? Why?
Answer: Intimate relationship with GOD. Because, I have had a lot of weaknesses and wrongdoings getting in the way, and when I am positive, my focus and connection to GOD intensifies, and it gives me so much comfort and pain relief, but when disconnected, I feel unbearable PAIN.
{LET'S CLEANSE OUR SELVES}
Now let's read some Mother Mary: from page 14, THE ANGEL CAME, according to Luke, saying, "Fear not, Mary; for thou hast found favor with GOD. / And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. / He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest."
[painting by Fra Angelico. The Annunciation]
Ok, I have to go. I have a headache brewing because I am trying to quit caffeine. I never had the strength to quit caffeine. I tried so many times to fail in the passed many years, but am trying really hard right now to overcome this. It might just be the "last vice" to go?
Ciao!
